As I make myself a coffee flavoured with white chocolate sauce, I become mesmerised by the sight of the syrup falling slowly onto the glass cup.
I decide to share this sight with others. On one end of a glass plate I pour treacle sauce. I lie down and hold the sheet in such a way that its short side rests onto my mouth. I wait for the sauce to reach my mouth. I do not know how long it will take. I discover the answer with my audience: 45 minutes. At the very last moment I turn my mouth and the drop falls onto my cheek. This work began with mesmerising beauty and ended up with frustrated perseverance. |
