In 2011 I was invited by Zaki Razak to offer a presentation on classical culture using performance art, for Conversations 2011: Lecher of Art, at The Substation.
I proposed Sofocle's Antigone, because I felt it could be easily re-contextualised in the political and social setting of Singapore.
I welcomed each member of the audience and guided them to their seat in a corner on the floor, close to me.
After an introduction in the style of peripatetic walk with a member of the audience, I read 13 passages from the tragedy and associated 13 actions with selected materials.
My intention was to make the audience experience the meaning of each passage in a sensorial manner.
