The original idea for the presentation of this project was to recreate the metaphysical space of the food court, in memoriam of the defunct “Victoria food court.”
A food stall offered Malay food to visitors of the space, at reasonable prices.
I waited on tables and sat with patrons.
I took polaroid of those willing to be photographed, to keep a memory of our encounter, and I hung them onto my dress or skin.
Especially for the NightFest 2011, I offered the convivial setting of the typically Singaporean, ubiquitous food court within a contemporary art context.
