The performance is divided in two blocks of four rituals. The audience must choose whether to attend the first CRYPTA and/or the second FERALIA/TACITA/NOVUS.
CRYPTA. The participation - as the name suggests - is behind closed doors, in secret; it is intimate and profound; one joins a symbolic journey of time dilation, purification, and collective presence and actions, inspired by Jodorowsky’s psychomagic; during this time no photo is taken;
FERALIA/TACITA/NOVUS. The first two are complex purification rituals, which draw from pagan tradition. This views February, once the year’s last month, as a time for death and purification before nature’s spring rebirth. February was named by Rome’s Sabine king Numa Pompilius after the god Februus, symbolising purification. The last ritual - NOVUS - is my reinterpretation of evocative actions and materials.
