L'attesa (2020), Sant’Oreste in Rete … Percorsi e Tracce: arte all’aperto e salute ambientale per un nuovo stile di vita e di cultura, Sant'Oreste sul Soratte (Rome) IT
Often, mundane actions or occurrences captivate me so deeply that I find them poetic. In those moments, I feel compelled to recreate and share them with my audience. This happened one day while I was making coffee with chocolate syrup: as I pumped the bottle, the viscous liquid fell with a mesmerising, unhurried grace.
In this performance, I lay down holding a long piece of glass vertically over my mouth. At the far end of the glass, away from my face, I had squirted some honey. I held the glass steady for 45 minutes before the honey reached my mouth, and just as the drop was about to fall in my mouth, I turned my head away. By doing so, I added a layer of deliberate, abandoned perseverance to the captivating descent of the honey along the glass.
