Lila (2020), PAR, Sant’Oreste in rete PERCORSI e TRACCE all’aperto e salute ambientale per un nuovo stile di vita e di cultura, Monte Soratte, Rome IT

During my artist residency at the monastery on Mons Soracte, I discovered many unusual objects that inspired me. One such object was a frame adorned with a row of tiny light bulbs, which seemed like it could have once framed a religious image, perhaps of the Holy Mary. I placed the frame over my head and wandered through the hamlet of Sant’Oreste, blowing bubbles that beautifully complemented the glow of the bulbs. Many local elderly women found this whimsical collage amusing.

Sometime, artists should not take themselves too seriously.

In Sanskrit, Lila means “divine play.”
